Okay, so although we live on a planet that has around 200 countries, this can still feel like a very limited choice at times. When you take out the downright dangerous and undesirable countries, this does not necessarily leave you with that much choice.
If you are looking for a wee bit of inspiration for your next holiday away, you have a couple of choices. You could either go down to your local travel agent and bore them for several hours as they rattle-off all the suggestions they can think of - and trust me, they will have plenty; or you could check out the internet and Travel Press Releases to see if anything grabs at your imagination.
When you start to scratch beneath this superficial surface, you soon see that the manicured travel resorts are only one side of the world of travel. There really is a whole world out there waiting for your exploration; the only question is: how adventurous are you?
If you feel mildly adventurous, you may well want to stick to the more traditional countries, but stay in an area that is off the beaten track for the usual tourist crowds. Get to experience that country as the locals would and hiring a rental property will really allow you to do this.
Then, moving up to the definitely adventurous individual - well where to start here? Just a few of many thousands of suggestions out there would include a month exploring both islands of New Zealand; trekking across Bolivia and into Chile; or how about a safari in Tanzania? Do be more adventurous and start living before you die!
