Does the very idea of a holiday that is completely off the beaten track for visitors fill you with absolute dread? Is it enough to bring on night sweats, then see you run to the bedside table to check to make sure your five star hotel room was surrounded by plenty of facilities?
Alas, it would seem that far too many of us do actually feel this way to some extent or another. This is because whilst we are staying in our Holiday Villas in Italy or other similar country, we wish to feel completely safe.
We work long and hard year round to be able to get away from it all and enjoy being waited-on and pampered for just a couple of weeks. The very idea of slumming-it in some remote country with basic facilities and landscapes far removed from Blighty simply cannot be an option.
Well now, this is indeed a huge shame! The fact is that we Brits really can be far too safe and reserved: yes, we have all heard foreigners say this about us and we have dismissed it, but it really is true!
When people start to book holidays that are far more adventurous in nature, they usually find it exceptionally difficult to go back to the more traditional-style of holiday. This is because they actively feel alive, for once, they are living life to the full and seeing parts of the world that they never imagined they would.
